Zach's acting career began in the middle of the 1990s - he was on TV and took part in shows at famous clubs in Los Angeles, where stand-up comedy was very popular at that time. With a few appearances in films and music repertoire, including even hip-hop songs, he did not know the meaning of "Hollywood glory" until his participation in the first part of “The Hangover” in 2009. Zack was just 40 years old then and Todd Phillips’ comedy has made him famous worldwide.

In addition to his Greek origin, he is famous for three other things: for chewing tobacco instead of smoking, for the cute little creatures he loves to caress in his films and for his internet comedy "Between ferns", in which he presents comic interviews with film stars like Jenifer Aniston, Natalie Portman, Bruce Willis, Sean Penn and others that are almost offensive to them.

Zach Galifianakis married only last year in Canada and the ceremony was secret. His wife Quinn Lundberg is ten years younger and a lot of centimetres higher than him; she is a former dancer and current activist. During the premiere of the third part of “The Hangover” in Los Angeles, the lights of publicity turned again to him as he had appeared with Elizabeth "Mimi" Heist, aged 87- a former homeless woman and long-time friend of his, whose rent he has been paying.

After the success of the trilogy, Zach now feels ready for his next two radically different projects. The first is the long-awaited comedy “Birdman” by Oscar-winning director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu starring Naomi Watts, Edward Norton and Michael Keaton. The second production is Matthew Weiner’s comedy “You are here” starring Owen Wilson and Amy Poehler.

"It's a little weird, but I'm 40 years old. If I were 20, the whole thing would drive me crazy. But do not worry. I'm sure I’ll mess up anyway," says Zack, criticizing himself at a time when he receives five million euro for his participation in each film.
