Arrests of anarchists near Samaras’ house

57 people were detained in the region of Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras’ house in the Athens suburb of Kifissia.

According to the available information, the apprehended persons are members of the anarchist space and they were there in protest against the government plans to transform Domokos prison into a prison with the highest level of security.

The official police statement indicates that the protesters were apprehended on Tuesday afternoon. They were shouting slogans and distributing leaflets in protest against the conditions in Greek prisons.

According to Greek media, which refer to sources, a well-known anarchist is among the detainees who has drawn the attention of the authorities several times in the past.
