Bad weather has reached Greece

The pouring rain in the central and western region of Macedonia has caused a number of problems, and according to meteorologists, bad weather will continue.

In Thessaloniki, it has been raining since morning and the temperatures have considerably dropped, the thermometer showing 26 degrees Celsius.

Because of the rain, the road traffic has increased and the slippery surface has become the cause for road accidents.

In particular, in the region of Voulgari street, a city bus collided with 8 cars. Fortunately, there were no injuries, just property damage.

In Imathia region, the rain has turned the streets into rivers, and the fire department has received a lot of requests to pump out water from shops and ground floor homes.

On Monday night, there were problems in the city of Kozani where the pouring rain hindered the road traffic and so far, the fire department has received 37 calls for help. 21 of the cases required the firefighters to intervene and pump out water from basements in Kozani, Haravgi, Drepano and Killa.

Today it is pouring with rain in western Greece, it is raining from time to time in the rest of the country and there are storms in places.

According to the National Weather Service, the weather will remain unchanged in the coming days. Meteorologists expect it to temporarily improve on Thursday, and to further deteriorate in central and northern Greece on Friday and Saturday.
