Despite the criticism, however, the Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou said that he took a one-way road to recover the Greek economy. The Prime Minister did not exclude the possibility to negotiate again with the Troika to reach a new and a better model for the tax policy, for which he is seriously criticized. He stated he is ready to renegotiate the terms and policies about the tax system, but the consent of the other political forces is required to ensure that this program would be applied in the long run. "We are now in progress, and we did not fail. If we do not fully implement the recovery measures and the deficit reduction we would not be able to talk about success," Papandreou replied to his critics who are quick to define him a failure, only a year after the adoption of the three-year recovery program.
