The exhibition is designed for children and adults, and visitors can choose to get acquainted with the "surface" focusing on material objects and rich multimedia content, or to gain more thorough knowledge of the geological history of the Aegean sea devoting more time to read the accompanying text and watch the 15-minute information film. According to Nikos Zouros however, visitors will need about an hour to look at all the exhibits that are on the ground floor and first floor of the Eugenides Foundation.

The organization of the first exhibition related to the emergence of the Aegean began two years ago, says Zouros. The initial optimistic plan was to create the entire eastern Mediterranean, but it was not possible because of recent social and political events.
