Black Eyed Peas plan a pretty interesting new activity. The funk group intends to open its own music academy in the heart of New York, reported Associated Press.

The school Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Music and Multimedia Academy will be open to students aged between 13 and 19 years. The academy will offer studies in video and music production and the most professional and quality equipment will be used. Applications will be considered on the basis of teacher recommendation and on the interests of each student - cinematography, editing, graphic design.

Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Music and Multimedia Academy is a joint project of Black Eyed Peas Foundation and Adobe Foundation. The latter already has several such projects behind its back, established in California.

"Our passion for music and media was the main reason, which led us to embark on this project," said frontman of Black Eyed Peas will.i.am. "The Academy will allow us to spread this love of ours, to affect more people with it and encourage them to develop in this direction."
