A luxury BMW car with licence plate ZZM 1551, owned by the director of the central Korydallos prison, was blown up at 4:40 am today in the Athens district of Daphne. The car had been parked on the corner of Diomidous and Agias Varvaras streets. At 4:15 am this morning too, unknown persons called the offices of Antenna TV and the electronic edition zougla.gr and warned that there would be an explosion in 20 minutes.

     The makeshift bomb slightly injured one woman, burned the car entirely and caused tangible damage to neighbouring buildings. The area is still cordoned off by the police. So far, no organization has assumed responsibility for the explosion but the authorities suspect the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei. The case is being investigated by the anti terrorism service.
