Christmas is coming and the preparation for the holiday becomes more and more tangible. The decorations and lights on balconies of the homes are multiplying, hurrying people with bags full of presents are walking everywhere. “Would she like it?” a young boys asks the sales woman in a female accessories store without hiding the thrill in his voice. The pre holiday fever comes to its peak, while this is the last weekend available for shopping.

Younger and older, pretentious and not so pretentious citizens – there is something for everybody in the local trade center – The Mall Athens. You could find interesting ideas and suggestions for presents in many shops – counting almost 200! 25 places – cafes and restaurants are taking care of the wellbeing of all citizens. Starting today until the 24th all stores will be opened every day all day long (09:00 – 21:00), and the cafes and restaurants from 10:30 until 02:00 after midnight.

Interesting amusements for the kids are being offered. Besides taking their picture with Santa Clause (every day from 17:00 until 20:00) they can paint on Christmas balls, to ride the Christmas train or to go down a large inflatable slide. The show with memory games and literary texts reading is organized by the “headquarter” of the Dickens “Christmas song”, whose premiere was set for December 24th.

For the fourth year in a row there is a Christmas village placed in the trade center. It comprises of many pavilions of famous brand names. Some of them are asking the visitors to make a generous gift to the needing kids, others are creating a good atmosphere with music and games, some are treating the visitors with tidbits, chocolates and drinks.

The cinema fans can enjoy a nice film marathon. Until the Christmas Eve the show includes few capturing comedies – the Greek “Inheritor” staring Smaragda Karidi, the American “New in town (Renee Zellweger) and “Change of plans” (Christopher Tompson), as well as the fantasy film “Avatar” with Michelle Rodriguez. Interesting for the cinema fans is also the discount voucher, which is valid not just for the holidays. For the amount of 10 Euro a month you can get tickets for the price of 6 Euro each for the weekday shows.
