My opinion is that the responsibility for the situation is common. We are guilty as a society because our apathy and inertia have allowed things to get there. Politicians are guilty because the only thing they did in the past was to keep their own benefits. Fortunately, people began to understand the things and to oppose them. Peaceful protests are always better because hard times are coming. The crisis has just begun and no one knows how long it will continue. Such periods usually last at least 10-15 years.
Costas, chemical engineer
I am here to oppose the situation that leads the country to a loss of national conscience and sovereign rights, and people to poverty. I'm unemployed for 13 months although I am a graduate chemical engineer with 20 years of experience and I know the market. However, I can not find work and this is one result of the lack of development policy, which lies at the heart of government policy over the last year.
I came here to protest peacefully, to make some change occur, to light a fire similar to that Mikis Theodorakis light a month ago and to spread it throughout Greece.
The participants in the protest had posters reading "I do not owe – I will not pay", "We didn’t spend the money with you" and "No to fear and common guilt". Passers-by stopped, most of them agreed with the position of the protesters.
While the people were gathering two policemen came to ask what it was all about. The protesters told them and the one of them asked about the group on Facebook to join it.
