"What I mean is that suicide can be prevented. It is not inevitable, nor fatal. Of course, not all people are equally tenacious. Some can handle difficulties in their lives more, others - less. It is human for someone to get to the point of suicide. This is neither bad, nor shameful, nor an expression of weakness. But what creates the problem ultimately is the difficulty we experience in seeking help, whether it is due to shame, to our own self-criticism that we are unable to deal with a problem, to the fact that our family does not know or is not able to hear that one of its members is in such a condition. What kills is stigmatization, not the problems themselves. We are here to help people who are on the brink. We know that they have their reasons for why they are there. But in many cases, we have seen people turn the page and continue their lives. This is the message I want to send."
