World music super stars will visit the Greek capital this autumn. The occasion? The finals of EuroVoice which will be held in Athens on September 24 and 23. Guests of the music event will be Anastacia, Enrique Iglesias, Sakis Rouvas, and Pamela Anderson. The stars will shine in the Greek firmament to adorn the presentation of the Euro Voice performers at OAKA.

Euro Voice is an annual music contest where young performers have the chance to show their talent. Candidates from Europe, Turkey and Israel take part in it. The event is not only music competition but platform for establishment of contacts and for young talents to promote their music. Singers can upload their songs to the EuroVoice portal and share them with thousands of listeners. Their personal profile, which is available on www.eurovoice.tv allows the public to get informed of their biographies, songs and lyrics and also to examine a photo gallery of the performers. Voting is through sms or on the competition web page. The portal is a novelty, and it is remarkable for the invisible ghost Voxy that tours the visitors and helps them get better acquainted with EuroVoice.

More than 600,000 fans voted for their favorite songs during this year's voting for finals. They chose between the songs of 420 singers from 39 countries on May 26. 33 countries with highest number of votes won and qualified for the finals which will be held in September in Athens. Greece will be present by George Tadzerakis with the song Ti parapano, music and lyrics by Thanos Papanikolau. The band The Secret will present Cyprus with the song In the Arms of My Angel, and Boriana Hristova will present Bulgaria with the song A pain. The winner of Euro Voice will win € 100,000 and a contract with an international record company.

As can be expected the core of Euro Voice are the singers and their songs. According to the president of Euro Voice, the great French composer Eric Serra this is “an extraordinary event which aims to present young artists internationally.” Furthermore, Euro Voice 2010 is expected to present a show what viewers have never seen so far ...

The history of the contest is as interesting as the contest itself. It all started in 1994 when Christopher Richardson, guitarist of a rock band, was inspired to make a new kind of competition. His idea was the contest to be broadcasted live using the latest technology. There appeared the Internet that gave life to his dream. Richardson, however, died in 1998. In an attempt to make his dream come true his friends founded the company Q Productions in 2008. In this way they laid the foundations of the first song contest EuroVoice.
