On Sunday evening, another man, who had been present at the office of Golden Dawn in Neo Iraklio during the bloody attack but escaped the bullets, testified in complete secrecy before the department combating terrorism. The man, aged about 30 years, is considered a key witness because he was present during the attack which killed George Foundoulis and Manolis Kapelonis and badly injured a third man, Alexandros Gerondas.

The eyewitness, who has the status of protected witness, states in his testimony that the perpetrator walked up to him and, from a distance of 10-15 metres, fired at him twice with a pistol. The eyewitness claims that he had instinctively bent down, subsequently managing to enter the building of Golden Dawn and to save himself.

The man also claims that the perpetrator was wearing a bright helmet or hat but he could not see his face because it was dark.

As for the investigation to find the perpetrators, the police have announced that, according to the ballistics testing carried out by the criminal investigation service, the 13 shell casing from a 9 mm gun found at the scene of the double murder in Neo Iraklio is from the same weapon as the remaining ones.

The authorities believe that the target of the killers was four victims. As can be seen from the surveillance cameras, the perpetrators had arrived by motorcycle, stopped at a distance of about 50 metres and carried out the attack in a few seconds. The available data indicate that there were four members of Golden Dawn in front of the building during the attack, guarding the office. Both perpetrators had got off the motorcycle and headed towards them. One of them had fired from a distance of 15 metres at one of the four young men, namely the eyewitness who testified at the department combating terrorism, without hitting him.

The badly injured man, aged 29, was shot in the back and the perpetrator shot from a distance of about half a metre the other two young men, who fell down onto the sidewalk. The offender however did not stop shooting. He had approached the victims and shot them in the head almost directly.

The video shows that the perpetrator was wearing a jockey hat and his accomplice a helmet, they were armed and wearing gloves.

So far, the authorities have had more than 30 witnesses and have obtained 25 video recordings from security cameras located near the crime scene.

The police have disseminated the photo of the motorcycle by which the perpetrators had escaped, hoping that someone could have seen them and would give information that will eventually lead to their discovery.

According to sources, shortly before the attack, the man who shot and killed the young men in front of the offices of Golden Dawn and his accomplice had been watching the place. They had passed by motorcycle outside the offices, checking the area prior to the implementation of their bloody plan.

The cameras in the offices of Golden Dawn, which show that the perpetrators had returned and killed the two young men, have recorded their actions.

The video also shows that the killer had a backpack and three security cameras have recorded the perpetrators leaving the scene.

At the same time, the department combating terrorism is looking for the place where the perpetrators had been hiding the stolen motorcycle for four months. It is not excluded that they could have used the place not only as a garage but also as a hiding place, where they had been hiding their weapons.

The investigation is mainly concentrated in the northern suburbs of Attica, as the perpetrators of the double murder had abandoned the motorcycle by which they had fled the scene towards the Helidonou area.

The police are awaiting the results from the crime lab for the detection of the DNA samples on the motorcycle.

George Foundoulis and Manolis Kapelonis were buried

Manolis Kapelonis, aged 22, and George Foundoulis, aged 27, were buried in the presence of their relatives alone.

The funeral of Manolis Kapelonis was held in the "Candlemas" temple in Artemis, Attica, and due to the request of the family, the access of journalists and politicians had been denied. There was discreet police presence.

The funeral of George Foundoulis was held in "St. Georges" church in Iraklio, where the presence of politicians had also been denied and the donation of funds to the Sikiaridio Foundation where his sister is studying had been requested instead of wreaths.

A message, posted before the funeral by Foundoulis family members on a social network, reads, "We do not want blood, the pavement is soaked with the blood of our child, nor do we want honours, we know how honest our child was. The family does not want any politician from any party to attend the funeral."
