Fraud worth millions of Euros with forged medical directions, surgeons sued for bribery from international companies

The case was adjourned to October this year, like the case against another orthopedist, which has not even begun. According to commentators, the cases are not interesting from criminal point of view because the authorities determine the prices of implant materials in favour of the companies. However, they are very important from tax point of view because the authority that deals with economic crimes is preparing to impose fines of 7-8 million euros on Depuy and Medec for issuing fictitious invoices to "legalize" bribes exceeding 4 million euros in the period 1999-2004.

In any case, the Greek agents of Depuy and its associates have not been charged yet.
