Great music artists promise hot summer of concerts in Greece

This summer some of the greatest music artists in the world have chosen Greece to perform concerts and give their Greek fans unique moments.

This year's summer music programme will be rich too and will cover a wide range of musical preferences, and many of the performances are about to become the musical event of the year.

The musicians who have announced their concerts to date are as follows:

Gogol Bordello - 7 May and 8 May

One of the most rhythmic bands, the gypsy punk rockers of Gogol Bordello, true to their meetings with the Greek audience, will return to Greece to perform two concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki respectively.

Pink Martini - 17 May

The Greek audience’s favourite Pink Martini, which is also one of the most successful bands of the global lounge-jazz scene, will return to perform a unique concert at Gazi Live on Saturday, 17 May.

Moonspell - 24 May

Μoonspell will visit the country for a special show dedicated to their Greek fans, the core of which will be songs from previous albums, namely Wolfheart and Irreligious. It will take place on Stage Volume 1 on Saturday, 24 May.

Thievery Corporation - 17 June

Thievery Corporation will return to Greece also to perform two concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki.

En Lefko Festival - 20 June and 21 June

En Lefko Festival will take place on 20 June and 21 June this year (Friday and Saturday) at "Technopoli", Athens municipality.

After adding Simple Minds and Aeroplane to the two-day programme, En Lefko Festival 2014 will take place as follows:

20 June - Simple Minds, Karuan & Band, Mike Simonetti (Italians Do It Better), Bottin, Egg Hell
21 June - Boy George, Gramatik, Nick Waterhouse, Aeroplane, Alex Gopher.

Bob Dylan - 23 June

After four years, Bob Dylan will return to Greece to perform two unique concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Clutch - 24 June

The famous rock band from Maryland, USA, will perform in Greece to celebrate 10 years of the release of its successful album Blast Tyrant.

Ejekt Festival - 25 June

In 2014, Ejekt Festival will mark 10 years of its continuous presence. Over the years, some of the greatest names in world music have performed on its stage and naturally, this year's anniversary edition of the Festival will feature Kasabian, which is one of the most impressive bands that have visited Greece. In addition to it, the festival, which will take place in Nerou Square in Faliro on 25 June, will include White Lies, Editors, Paul Kalkbrenner, Darkside.

Sepultura - 3 July

The Brazilian "pioneers of the extreme metal sound" will visit Greece to perform on Stage Volume 1 on Thursday, 3 July.

Rockwave Festival - 10, 11, 12, 13 July

The Rockwave Festival 2014 will again take place for four days. It will start on Thursday, 10 July, and will continue until Friday and throughout the weekend with a rich concert programme at Terravibe, Malakasa.

One of the first names on the list is that of Eric Burdon, one of the rock legends with a constant presence on the music stage from the 1960s to date. The festival will also present Calexico and the band of Joey Burns and John Convertino. Finally, the stage of Rockwave 2014 will present Woodkid or the "many-sided" French musician Yoann Lemoine.

James - 15 July

James will return to Greece for a single performance at Vrahon Theatre in Vyronas on 15 July. The favourite band of the Greek audience will visit Greece within the context of its tour promoting its new album La Petite Mort, which will be released on 2 June.

Placebo - 8 August

Placebo will visit Greece to perform a single concert at the Olympic Stadium of Peace and Friendship on Friday, 8 August, within the context of the world tour dedicated to the latest disc by the band entitled Loud Like Love.

Lady Gaga - 19 September

The concert of the eccentric Lady Gaga at the Olympic Stadium in Athens on Friday, 19 September, is about to become the musical event of the year.
