The majority of Greek-American in the USA will vote for Barack Obama and they have already donated $3 million for his pre-election campaign. This became clear by the statements of Nina Gatzouli and Panikos Papanikolaou, president of the Panmacedonian community in and the Cyprian community in the US respectively. At the same time, it is believed that John McCane has received a bigger amount from the rich Greeks but they number is smaller than the rest who are standing behind Obama.

John McCane is officially supported by giant contractors like George Argiros, Alex Spanos, who is also very close to George Bush, Dean Spanos, and Geri Kamilos. The giant ship magnates John Tavlarios and Peter Faseas, owner of the “Boston Scientific” company, Peter Nicholas, the banker Peter Georgiopoulos and the investor Peter Peterson are also actively participating in the pre-elections headquarters of the senator from Arizona.

Barack Obama cannot brag about such support on the side of the big businesses but in return behind him is the Greek-American political ellite like Paul Sabanis and the congressmen John Sabanis and Jack Space. John Podesta has been appointed as head of his administration and will accompany him into the White House. Among the close supporters of the Illinois Senator are also the real estate brokers George Markos from San Francisco, Aris Anagnos from Los Angeles and Angelo Tzakopoulos from Sacremento, who is a close friend of Hillary Clinton.
