In particular, as reported by Deputy Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras yesterday, the net revenue to the regular budget amounts to 7.874 million euro compared to the 8.449 million euro planned, the gap being 575 million euro. Furthermore, the gap in the income before tax refunding is 270 million euro and the difference is due to the fact that the amount of the taxes refunded in the first two months of the year was 497 million euro instead of 193 million euro as planned.

The gap in the revenue was filled by increasing the revenues under the public investments programme to the amount of 1.594 million euro instead of 587 million euro, as well as by cutting costs.

The costs in the state budget amount to 8.973 million euro, reporting a 590 million euro decrease compared to the 9.563 million euro planned. In particular, the costs in the regular budget amount to 8.367 million euro, reporting an 846 million euro decrease due to the reduction in primary costs by 791 million euro.

The costs in the regular budget decreased by 776 million euro or 8.5% compared to the same period of 2013.
