Kalomira: If I was not a singer, I would be a history teacher

The Greek pop star Kalomira is back with her new song "This is the time". The hit is expected to rapidly climb the charts for its fresh summer sounds performed by the petite singer from New York, who made the "American dream" come true but in Greece. If anyone still believes that Kalomira is a sweet, innocent girl who speaks Greek with an accent and became known only because she happened to participate in a reality TV show, apparently can not assess her properly: she is a strong personality who very clearly knows what her priorities in life are.

The 26-year-old singer grew up in New York in the family of Greek immigrants and conquered the hearts of the audience still with her participation in the reality show "Fame story 2". Her career in the country began then and its peaks are her participation in Eurovision and the duet with Dionysis Savopoulos in the ancient theater "Herodians." Kalomira has been travelling from America to Greece and back in recent years, as she is not willing to leave her parents neither to abandon her career. "In the beginning, when I came to Greece, I did not want to leave even for a week, because I was afraid. There is much of a fear instilled in our industry and I did not even go to see my parents. But over time, I realized that when you make a successful song and you show up people do not forget about you. It may not be as cool as it would be if you were here, but there is not great difference," said Kalomira in an interview for Ethnos, adding that she is no longer under stress, because she believes that if you do something with all your heart, you work hard and have a good team, you have no problems.

Currently, Kalomira’s life in America is around the washing machine, the university and the family. She is studying Business Administration in America and says that she likes reading very much and learning new things. But even more bizarre is her statement that if she did not become a singer, she would become a history teacher! "I am 26 years old and I am not so young! Just think about that Lady Gaga is 24! But I feel happy that I can do what I love in Greece and nobody knows me in America. It makes me feel a healthy balance. Do you think all those world famous people are also very happy? I do not know ...", says Kalomira.

Otherwise, Kalomira is married to her friend Iorgos and their relationship lasts five years already. "Don’t you think that you married a little early, having not much of experience with men?" asked the journalist of Ethnos, but the young diva does not give up easily and replied, "You can not be sure that I have no experience. I was alone in Greece three years. What should I do? But I'm glad that I had relationships, because you gain some experience and can appreciate some things in the man next you. Thank God I have a good man beside me who loves me and cares for me. I do not think I married young. I feel that I should go out, I'd be acquainted with more men and then I would get confused because I would not know what I wanted. I want someone to be my best friend," said Kalomira. Kalomira is currently a real housewife in her words. She is washing, ironing, cooking and trying to do the cleaning in the whole house. She has no housemaid because she said that her mother should take a housemaid first, and then she might think about it. Grounded in reality, Kalomira says that she is ready for the moment when lights of fame would turn off. "I know how important it is to have money to live weel. I myself have gone through periods in my life when there were no customers at the restaurant and because we had to pay the rent I went around the neighborhood with a menu saying that we have the most delicious pizza and that people should take it from us! "What I want in ten years are good relations within the family and three children."

Curious facts:

Kalomira's favorite meal is French fries with ketchup

She is the only winner of a reality talent show that made a career

Her motto is "behave naturally and be yourself"

She and her husband Iorgos had met in her village near Sparta, while he has proposed her to get married in a romantic restaurant under the Brooklyn Bridge

Her secret wish is to work together with Sakis Rouvas
