On Limnos you will enjoy good and cheap food. Be sure to try fresh fish and seafood, lobster with wild greens, rooster with pasta and handmade aftoudia (local pasta) in the "Mandelas" tavern in the village of Sardes, fried patties "tiganoudia" prepared by the traditional bakery "Hrisafi", "Kalathaki" cheese, biscuits with thyme and honey, and to drink the famous local wine "Muscat". If you want something different, you can visit Kotsindelis’ tavern in the picturesque square in Tsimandria to try baked dishes. You can try delicious pancakes at "Podilato" in Myrina and you should try bougatsa in "Ahni ke Kanela". "Karaghiozis" and "Isalos" in Myrina offer entertainment throughout the night.

How to get there:

By plane from Athens, Thessaloniki and Mytilini, by sea from Thessaloniki, Kabbalah and Mytilini.

More information about the island is available on www.limnos.gr and www.limnos.gov.gr
