Costumes inspired by the roles of the opera diva Maria Callas, works of the Greek sculptor Nikos Floros, are set out in the Palace of Grand Master of Rhodes. Old, but also new works of the artist are included in this exhibition that examines the issue of theatrical costumes - and not only - in a peculiar manner.

Because these sculptural costumes by Nikos Floros are unique, authentic, handcrafted from aluminum cans, transformed into a material similar to textiles. This is about a method created by Floros himself which received international recognition.

From Tripoli, Arcadia area, beginning his studies at the drama school in Athens and classical piano at the National Conservatory, but also painting in Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, Nikos Floros has presented his works both in Greece (Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum, the Palace Mela, National Bank of Greece, Foundation of the Hellenic World, "Syntagma" square, Museum "Benaki", etc..) and abroad (Whitney Museum of American Art, Metropolitan Club, French Heritage Society, Hofburg Palace in Vienna and others.) and has been awarded many times.

Nikos Floros has been living and working in New York for years and his works are exhibited in many museums and private collections. About his method of transforming aluminum into "fabric" he has obtained a patent (2003). He was also awarded first prize for costume «Red Queen Elizabeth» by Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume and again with the first prize for the costume «Silver Elizabeth Ι» by the French Heritage Society.

For the exhibition at the Palace of Grand Master, Floros has created a special work, the emblem of Rhodes with dimensions 3.50 Χ 2. 00 meters. He will also meet visitors in the first room of the exhibition, which will continue until 30^th of August.
