For several years running on TV there is a children's show called "Who is the best?". Children under 7 years of age have the opportunity to express themselves – any way they can. One day I saw the show and I sat down to watch it. A man was asking all children the following question - "What do you want to be when you grow up?". Most girls answered that they wanted to become princesses. And the boys answered almost anything else but princes. Isn’t that funny!? Girls can become princesses only if they find a prince and no boy wanted to be a prince.

Why am I telling you this? Because every woman dreams of seeing herself in a white wedding dress, to become a princess. Men are not quite such enthusiasts when it comes to weddings, although they look for a mate as well. But it is interesting for one to ponder what is the role of marriage in both sexes.

Today's topic is marriage according to the horoscope. Undoubtedly this is the top or I would even say the Number One topic in every woman's life. In men it is not as highly active in their minds, but as the saying goes "even if he has a good life, every man gets married eventually”. The difference in attitudes to marriage between men and women is rooted in a genetic "coding" by gender. But this is not the purpose of my article.

When analyzing a horoscope, people are always interested in the following questions: Will I get married? When? Would it be good? How many marriages will I have?

The individual horoscope can give an answer to these questions. I will concentrate on the number of marriages. Whether there will be a marriage, will there be only one, or more. Now, I want to mention that love and marriage are two categories of life that do not necessarily overlap. For some people the beautiful love becomes a horrible marriage and with others the reverse occurs - the tough love turns into a beautiful marriage. And with others the same things are kept - the quality of love, follows them into the marriage as well. It all depends on the specific pattern of relationships embedded in each of us. According to this model, we maintain our intimate, love and marriage relationships.

The components of our marriage model are few. When I say “marriage model” I mean what resources we have for granted regarding marriage: if there will be a marriage, how it will develop, whether there will be a divorce, adultery, and how many marriages there will possibly be. Since the definition of these components is dynamic, i.e. it depends on the individual horoscope and the planets are usually different for different people, I will focus mainly on two of them - the Sun and the Moon. Those two planets always have a connection to marriage in the horoscope since they themselves bear the archetype man/woman.

Marriage in modern days has two dimensions - legal and the one that has not undergone any religious or civil ceremony. This second type I would not call it illegal because it is such only in terms of some public social norms that undergo constant change. From an astrological point of view it is not illegal because astrology considers marriage under the laws of nature, not the manners and customs of different peoples and social laws established by them. However, there are factors in the horoscope that affect the "legality" of marriage according to societal mores. Just for information I will mention that one factor is the position, strength and status of the planet Jupiter in the individual horoscope. Jupiter has many meanings, one of which is associated with religion, ceremonies and laws. And if the planet has no special "power" over the marital components, the specific person will not strive for legitimacy, especially a ceremonial one.

What is the role of the Sun and Moon, when it comes to how many marriages we will have or if we will have one at all? The Sun is the determining factor in a woman's horoscope chart and the Moon in the male one. Here I will add that in the female horoscope the Moon is also important in terms of intimacy and marriage. And notice what happens. For women the Sun and the Moon have equal importance. While for the men, the major role is played by the Moon. This describes the roles of men and women in our world very well. It also describes sexual discrimination, which continues to exist to this very day, even if it is more disguised.

In a public and social context, marriage for women is often their primary role. While marriage for men, is not such an important part of their expression in society. This is why the topic of marriage is essential for women. They give priority to it because marriage is the most easily accessible way for them to "succeed", to apply the solar energy given to them. For men, marriage is not a means to "succeed" except when it comes to reproduction.

As a general rule it is inferred that if the Moon in the horoscope of a man and the Sun in the horoscope of a woman are in the signs Gemini, Sagittarius or Pisces, the likelihood of more marriages is increased. What causes this specificity? In the Zodiac, there are three signs, which are made of two bodies and are called dual body signs. These are: Gemini - the image includes two human figures, Sagittarius - a centaur image, half man-half horse and Pisces - the image includes two fish. And if we find the Sun or Moon in one of these signs, it is believed that the man or woman tend to have more than one marriage or maintain two relationships simultaneously.

Of course this is very general and very limited in order to be able to make any clear conclusions. This is why, except for the sign, we review also the relationship of the Moon (for men) and the Sun (for women) with the other planets in the horoscope.

The basic rule according to primary sources is as follows: Where men are concerned we need to pay attention to the position of the Moon in the horoscope and how many planets it will be "connected" to. Where women are concerned we need to pay attention to the position of the Sun and with how many planets, standing on the east, it will be connected to.

I'll explain this rule in more detail by giving illustrative examples. But before that I will remind you again that this is not the only rule when considering marriage in the horoscope. It gives us the basic guide, the answer to the question "How many times will we connect with a woman/man? How many opportunities will we have?". Whether and when there will be a marriage is a question whose answer is sought by other rules as well. These are harder to explain to the mass audience, so I'll leave them aside. If you have a more serious interest in the matter, you should contact an astrologer.

How can we understand the rules regarding marriage for men? Where men are concerned we should pay attention to the position of the Moon in the horoscope and with how many planets it is "connected". First I pay attention to whether the Moon is in any of the three dual signs Gemini, Sagittarius or Pisces. When it is, then it is believed that the man is inclined to have more than one marriage or to maintain two relationships simultaneously. If other indicators support this factor as well, it is almost certain that there will be more marriages in his life. Then we track how many planets the Moon can be "connected" to. These are the so-called aspects in astrology. We note the degrees of the Moon and separate the planets, which have a greater degree. Then we determine with which of them the Moon will make a connection. I will give an example for clarity:

The picture shows the planets and the degrees, in which they are at birth. The moon is in 3° Sagittarius. The planets with greater degrees are the following:

Uranus - 6° Aries
Mars - 7° Virgo
Pluto - 9° Capricorn
Sun - 19° Taurus
Jupiter - 22° Taurus
Venus - 23° Gemini
Saturn - 24° Libra

Now follows something a little more difficult. From this list we are interested in the planets, with which the Moon will connect. For convenience, I have numbered the signs from 1 to 12, counting from the sign in which the Moon is placed.

1. We are looking for planets in the same sign, which make a conjunction – there are no such signs
2. We are looking for planets in the 3^rd and 11^th sign from the Moon, which make a sextile - signs Aquarius and Libra – Saturn is here.
3. We are looking for planets in the 4^th and 10^th from the Moon, which make a square - signs Pisces and Virgo – Mars is here.
4. We are looking for planets in the 5^th and 9^th sign, which make a trine - signs Aries and Leo – Uranus is here.
5. We are looking for planets in the 7^th sign, which make an opposition - sign Gemini – Venus is here.

So, from the first list we screened out four planets, with which the Moon will connect successively according to the increasing degrees: Uranus, Mars, Venus and Saturn.

Conclusion:

Given that the sign Sagittarius, in which the Moon stands, is a dual sign and that the Moon will connect to four planets, then we could argue with certainty that the probability of more than one marriage is particularly high. Whether all these opportunities will turn into a marriage, is subject to further analysis.

Now I will explain the rule for women. Where women are concerned, we should pay attention to the position of the Sun and with how many planets, standing on the east, it makes a connection. First, it once again matters whether the Sun is in a dual sign because it increases the probability of more than one marriage. These signs are Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces. When the Sun in a woman’s horoscope is in one of these signs it is believed that she tends to have more than one marriage or to maintain two relationships simultaneously. If other indicators support this factor, it is almost certain that she will have more than one marriage in her life.

The next step is the number of planets, with which the Sun is connected. It sounds a little complicated at first glance - planets standing "east" of the Sun. For most readers this is certainly not so easily understandable, so I will not encumber you with an explanation why, and what it means. I'll just introduce what is being done in practice, which is not all that complicated. You make an imaginary line from the position of the Sun and thus divide the horoscope into two halves. We are interested in how many planets there are in the signs through which the Sun has passed, the others are behind it. I have showed this in the picture - these are the planets in the light half.

It is important to note that the Moon, Mercury and Venus are not normally taken into account. They come into play only on special occasions. Now we are looking with which planets the Sun makes some kind of aspect, i.e. they find themselves in the 1^st, 7^th, 9^th, 10^th and the 11^th sign from it.

1. We are looking for planets in the same sign, which make a conjunction – Jupiter is here.
2. We are looking for planets in the 11^th sign from the Sun, which make a sextile - sign Aquarius – Mars is here.
3. We are looking for planets in the 10^th sign from the Sun, which make a square - sign Capricorn – there are no planets here.
4. We are looking for planets in the 9^th sign from the Sun, which make a trine - sign Sagittarius – Neptune is here (the Moon is also here, but in this case we do not consider it).
5. We are looking for planets in the 7^th sign from the Sun, which make an opposition - sign Libra – Pluto is here, but it falls into the dark half and therefore we do not consider it.

Thus we have three planets, which according to degrees close to the Sun are as follows: Neptune, Jupiter and Mars. The conclusion is that this woman will probably have two marriages. The Sun is not in a dual sign, which does not imply more than one marriage. But it makes a connection with three planets. With two of them the degree connection is very narrow and close, and with the third one, it is wider. This is a sign that there is an open door for the destabilization of the first marriage and this allows for it to be destroyed. The creation of another is possible and it is likely that between the two there will be an unsuccessful relationship. Another option is to have a serious relationship that will end, and the next two will turn into marriages. Which option of the mentioned options is the case, is determined by other factors when analyzing the marriage model in life.

Here I demonstrated the general case, but there are horoscopes, in which it appears that the Moon nor the Sun connect with a planet or the "connection" has too many degrees. These are the horoscopes of people who will have great difficulty to get married, if they get married at all. There are cases where the Sun and Moon make a connection with other planets, but the person does not get married. In these cases we are talking about opportunities, which fail to be realized. There are also those cases where there are opportunities for more marriages, but the person chooses to keep the first.

When determining the planets, with which the corresponding Sun or Moon is connected in the horoscope, we proceed to evaluate whether these planets are able to provide marriage, do they have anything to do with marriage and whether they have the power to do so. As I mentioned at the beginning, the analysis is much more complicated and what I presented in this topic is just the first step.
