The Ministry of Finance plans the objective evaluation of real estate to be aligned with its market prices
For every transaction using cash, credit or debit card, the taxpayer will provide the electronic card for receipts to the employee at the store who will pass it through the POS terminal, which today is used for credit or debit cards.
This will register the details of the receipt. The centre for processing operations of the bank issuing the card will be notified about the operation and send the data to the General Secretariat for Information Systems.
The data from the operation that the bank will send are the: a) electronic card code, b) tax identification number of the trader, c) date of the transaction, and d) amount of the transaction.
After a year the total amount of purchases made by the taxpayer will be printed in advance in the card holder´s tax return.
Payment of instalments is extended until Thursday
The deadline for the payment of the first instalment of the notification letter to the extraordinary contributions of taxpayers, which expired yesterday, is extended until next Thursday, October 6.
This decision was taken yesterday by Deputy Minister of Finance Pandelis Ikonomou due to the 24-hour strike announced this week by tax officials, which resulted in many taxpayers failing to pay their obligations on time.
The amount of the obligation is confirmed in its entirety, and submitted in 6 equal monthly instalments, starting with the last working day of the month following the confirmation, and all subsequent instalments - the last working day of the month.
Each contribution cannot be less than 300 Euros, with the exception of the last one. Therefore, if the contribution is confirmed in August, the first instalment should be paid by September 30, 2011, and with the extension of the deadline the payment must be completed by October 6; however, the second instalment should be paid by October 31, the third by November 30, the next one by December 31, etc.
