The new taxes drowned the pools

The difficult situation with the tax revenues forced the government to seek the help of private companies in the search of "missing" tax debtors. Once the private investigators find the fugitive taxpayer, they will submit his or her data to the regional tax office, which will take the collection of overdue payments to the state. This step obviously reflects the complete inability of the public sector and the tax offices in Greece, which, despite their almost complete inefficiency, remained unaffected by the structural reforms. In this line of thought, while the government is setting new, higher taxes and fees for pools, real estate, cars, monthly income and what not, it should probably first take care to collect old debts left by older and better times, when paying taxes was selective.
