Elena Nikolova
This week Pussycat Dolls are taking the lead in GRR HOT 15. One position up and first place but unfortunately now is not the time for celebration. All the PCD girls are devastated and I’m sure we are all too. A legend is gone but as Melody Thornton from the PCD says: “Every Michael Jackson fan in the world, let’s be happy he will forever sing from the heavens!!! I’m devastated from this loss.” As you probably already know, around noon on Thursday Michael Jackson died of a heart attack. May he rest in peace…
Also one position up and number two in the chart is Elena Paparizou with her song Tha ‘Mai Allios. This week the MAD VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS took place in Athens and Elena grabbed three of them! Her song, which was also part of GRR HOT 15, Pirotehnimata won BEST VIDEO CLIP and BEST VIDEO CLIP OF THE YEAR. Elena’s third award was BEST FEMALE PERFORMER. Congratulations and we are waiting for more great songs!
Leaving the first position and currently number three is Zoom by Nevena, Marius Moga & NiVo. Unfortunately, NiVo did not leave the award ceremony with an award in his hand but after all that does not change the fact how popular he is among his numerous fans!
Boom Boom Pow is number four this week after it jumped up with five positions! Black Eyed Peas made a commercial for Target where they are advertising their new album. Interesting video and interesting collaboration. All Target lovers – go and get your favorite album and all non-Target lovers – if you like BEP, you better become a Target lover.
The Killers and their song Spaceman are keeping their last week’s position – number five. NME magazine reports that Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vanucci are planning to record an album of covers before the end of the year. The drummer also said that the band are planning to work on the album during their current tour.
One position up and currently on number six in GRR HOT 15 is Disco party by Grafa & Akaga. The song is slowly but surely aiming for the top and it is curious to see which song it will be able to win over. But I guess we should be patient and wait to see.
This week number seven, after a five positions jump, is Pitbull with his song I know you want me. I don’t know if you have heard but Pitbull is not to be messed around with unless you are in a great need of a punch! The singer had a performance in Aspen, Colorado, when a fan started throwing money at him on stage. The star, pulled the fans on stage by the hand, punched him hard and kept on singing! Didn’t even miss a note! You can see the “interesting” video here.
Together Forever is continuing to fall – this week with four positions. Playmen & Reckless are now on number eight and their future in GRR HOT 15 does not look so bright.
Good and bad news for Sakis Rouvas. The bad news is that his song This is our night has fallen again in our chart and is now on number nine. But the good news is that Saki won the awards BEST MALE PERFORMER and PERFORMER OF THE YEAR from the MAD VIDEO MUSIC AWARD! Bravo Saki! Number 10 is Vanessa Adamopoulou whose song Ena Lepto climbed up with one position.
This week number 11 in GRR HOT 15 are Razorlight with their song Wire to Wire. Fans! Tonight at 08:00PM is the band’s performance in Danube Festival! For all of you who are going – have fun! And for those, who will miss it – don’t worry, there’s always next time.
Two positions up and on number 12 is Despina Vandi with Iparhi Zoi. Unfortunately the singer did not win any awards on MAD MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS but all fans shouldn’t despair but remember that the singer’s success lies in their hands! Vegas and their song Tis mana sou also jumped up with two positions and are currently on number 13.
Number 14 hosts one of the new songs this week – Den milo gia mia nihta ego by Elefteria Arvanitaki. She won the MAD TV award for BEST VIDEO CLIP. This incredibly talented singer enters the chart for the first time and I hope we will see more from her soon. And until then all of her fans abroad should know that Elefteria has a concert in Spain scheduled for July! The second new song this week is Always the Sun by Richard Durand and all I can say about the song is that you should hear it. Just close your eyes, listen to the lyrics, feel the rhythm and enjoy!
