Bass guitar player of Pearl Jam, Jeff Amant has announced to Billboard, that the band has written 25 songs for a new studio album. The disc will most likely be recorded later this year.

"In April we will gather, we will learn to play all these demos and see which 12-15 of them will come out on top" - says Jeff. According to Amant the band is currently focused on re-releasing the albums "Vs". and "Vitalogy", as well as on the directed by Cameron Crowe documentary and book about the band, with the help of which Pearl Jam celebrated their 20th anniversary. Their many commitments do not however stop the band from making plans for the future.

It appears that this will be a very busy year for the members of Pearl Jam not only as a band but also individually. Frontman Eddie Vedder is currently on a solo tour in Australia and is also about to begin work on a new solo album. Drummer Matt Cameron on the other hand will record a new album with Soundgarden, and Amant is expected to release a new album with his solo project Tres Mts.
