The Greek Week of the fashion was organized for the eleventh time in Athens between the days of March 24th and 28th, 2010. 15 designers took part in it, both established and young modelers, who showed their collections for the fall-winter season of 2010 – 2011.

Sex-appeal, light nostalgia and jazz mood brings the collection of Makis Tselios for the fall-winter season of 2010 – 2011. The male suits are in black, brown, grey and the monotonousness is broken and completed by the details – a scarf on the neck, thin neckties or tight waist bands which could be in red. In his female collection, Tselios keeps the colors he suggests for the men, and he emphasizes on the fabrics and the patterns.

His women are sexy, daring and romantic. The mini skirts and the dresses are always fashionable – Tselios underlines the femininity by exposing one of the shoulders or the back. The waist is always tightened with a wide belt and the laces are again in fashion as details for the skirts or under the form of apocalyptic bodysuits. The leggings still remain in fashion, always with a wide belt and in combination with a flimsy shirt. The clothes with the trade mark of Makis Tselios could be purchased from 350 boutiques in Greece and in 200 abroad.

Since the very beginning of the show the collection of Dimitris Dasios became notable for its extravagance. With sounds of rattling thunders and pouring rain in the background, are coming out the women of Dasios, dressed in tight, long dresses with strict lines and stylish hair, carrying umbrellas in their hands. The sharp lines have been smoothened by colorful elements and the velvet material of the fabric.

The collection of Dasios is going around the “rainy subject” – the women are dressed in short skirts in the shape of big umbrellas. The lines are emphasized – the long gloves are in fashion, to stress on the elegance of the tight shirts with no sleeves. The woman for Dasios remains a mystery waiting to be revealed.

Dimitris Dasios is a designer who loves to work with applied arts, jewelry and accessories, creating in this way unique works with his distinguished style and technique. His collection of clothes and accessories for the fall-winter season of 2010 – 2011, called “November” has explicit references to the Greek tradition. It is distinguished for the leather clothes and coats which he combines with cashmere and silk. His collection of clothes is accompanied by leather bags with leather elements, from velveteen or with ethnic details which as a whole are in the colors of the winter. The works of Dasios are hand made and could be purchased from boutiques from New York to Tokyo.

Besides the fashion shows, during the fashion week were also organized events supporting AcrionAid. 17 dancers took part in the show “Dancing fashion… A move for a move”, the photographers Bill Patrick and Heder Nomi presented their pictures in the “Seven Vs seven III” exhibition and ActionAid presented its new collection of T-shirts with messages and sketches related to the activity of the organization in the world.

During the Week of the fashion was also presented a show of the so called ethical fashion and in the kiosks in the Technopolis center where the shows were carried out there was also a kiosk with ethical fashion products. “The consumption is a way of life. The choice to follow the ethical fashion contributes for the long life of the planet” points out the first Greek organization for ethical fashion Read Thread, which organized the first Ethical Fashion show.

This year during the Week of the Fashion, their collections presented also the designers Angelos Bratis, Hristoforos Kotentos, Delight, Dimitris Dasios, Evangelos Kavatas, Lito Bare, Filep Motguari, Kathi Heindels, Makis Tselios, Maria Mastori, Mi-Ro, Panos Apergis, Sotiris Georgiou, Vasilis Zuias, Georgios Elevteriadis and New Generation, as well as the Romanian Korina Vladesku.
