To what extent do we tend to give in to depression and self-destruction? What can influence us most and push us into self-destructive and depressive states?

Each of us tends towards some kind of self-destruction - depression, alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, harmful addictions, self-harm, even suicide, risky sports and activities. According to psychotherapists, the feeling of closeness of death makes life more meaningful and valuable. It is a bit paradoxical, but the path to the strongest will to live goes through the sense of death and destruction. Large amounts of adrenaline are released during such moments, and adrenaline is the greatest stimulant of life - it makes us act, do something, especially in order to protect ourselves and our lives. Stress and life crises are one of the biggest "producers" of adrenaline. And if we don't find the right way to use our adrenaline and deal with the most critical situations, then we tend to escape through some kind of self-destruction.

In today's article, I will write about what our tendency to self-destruct is, what type of stress can influence us most, so that we start destroying ourselves through alcohol, drugs, gambling, sexual abuse, self-harm and risky activities.

The Moon in the individual horoscope is related to our instincts and the way we react instinctively and emotionally to a given situation. This planet is very important for all our life and especially in terms of the ways we deal with life crises - mentally and emotionally.

Saturn in the horoscope is the biggest "villain" that pushes us into situations of stress and crises, but also gives us adrenaline. It is precisely this planet which takes care to protect us in critical situations. Saturn saves us and lets us live due to its function to create boundaries and maintain the structure of life. Therefore, it provokes situations in which we fear death, because our fears enable our instinct for survival and activate the release of adrenaline in the body. And when we are afraid, we try to destroy our fears. But how can we destroy something which is inside us, unless by means of self-destruction?

The relationship between the Moon and Saturn in the horoscope and the position of their houses show how we deal with stress in our lives, but also what our tendency to resort to self-destruction is. This is a more complex analysis, therefore I will not elaborate on it. I will concentrate on areas of life that are the biggest sources of stress, according to the birthday horoscope and which therefore can push us into self-destructive states. All this is determined according to the houses that are ruled by Saturn in the horoscope and the twelfth house, which is associated with the ways in which we try to escape from what worries us; the ways in which we try to destroy ourselves.

Further on in this article, I will give the relevant information for each sign in the Ascendant. As I have repeatedly mentioned in my articles, when talking about real life events and areas, the Ascendant is always the starting point - this is the sign that rises in the east at the time of birth.

Ascendant in Aries

Saturn rules the 10th house. This area is a source of stress and crises, it is associated with the greatest fears in life. These include achievements and ambitions in life, social status and attention you get from society. All professional and career failures may push you to the edge. Changes in social status, especially if these are in a downwards direction, are very stressful for you. Your father, authority people and government authorities also underlie some of your biggest life crises and can be a constant source of fear and stress.

The 12th house falls in Pisces. Self-destruction tendencies that are most characteristic of you are primarily related to alcohol, sexual abuse, self-isolation and escape in the literal sense - you abandon absolutely everything you have in life.

Ascendant in Taurus

Saturn rules the 9th house. This area is a source of stress and crises, it is associated with the greatest fears in life. These include education, travel, foreign cultures, the meaning of your life, your personal "faith and religion." One of the biggest problems in your life includes the opinion of others which is difficult for you to handle. Your partner's siblings, grandchildren, as well as teachers and foreigners may underlie some of your major life crises and be a source of fear and stress.

The 12th house falls in Aries. Self-destruction tendencies that are most characteristic of you are primarily related to high-adrenaline sports and activities, risking your life by falling into extreme situations. Self-harm is very common.

Ascendant in Gemini

Saturn rules the 8th house. This area is a source of stress and crises, it is associated with the greatest fears in life. These include mostly money and other resources, especially banks, debts, inheritance, chronic diseases, serious incidents in life and death. Your parents' circle of friends, sexual partners may underlie some of your major life crises and be a source of fear and stress.

The 12th house falls in Taurus. Self-destruction tendencies that are most characteristic of you are primarily related to participation in orgies (food, drink, sexual abuse), gambling activities through which you risk your entire stability in life.
