If you are unable to deal with the complex procedures, you should turn to an accountant. "With a simple power of attorney issued by ΚΕΠ (the service centres for citizens), you can authorize your accountant to represent you before the tax authorities and to undertake the submission procedure of the tax return. In this case, the accountant will use his or her codes for logging into the system of TAXISnet and you will not have to stand in queues to obtain these codes," says Antonis Mouzakis. "It is important for the taxpayer to submit to the accountant the tax return from the previous year, which contains the code of execution."

The deadline for submitting the tax return is 30 June 2013 but according to Mouzakis, the government will give an extension. "Six million tax returns must be processed, which means that 200,000 tax returns should be processed a day to meet the specific deadline. As you understand, this is impossible," said the specialist.
