Days after the Greek police found and arrested the murderer of the 34-year-old Bulgarian woman in Thessaloniki they made new disclosures. According to the report of journalist Lefteris Bidelas in "Ethnos" newspaper, during the search of the woman’s flat, the authorities had found her notebook that contained valuable information for the continuation of the investigation. The text states that, so far, the police have not found evidence of the existence of a prostitution network, but only that the woman was engaged in prostitution in her lodging by accepting specific clients.

The report states that the woman, whose name is Pavlina Angelova, according to the Bulgarian media, but is described by the case record with the initials J.P., had written down detailed data on the representatives of the Thessaloniki elite who visited her at home. Her notebook contains the names of businessmen, lawyers and representatives of advertising agencies in Thessaloniki, who, as "Ethnos" writes, have become unable to sleep after the murder and the subsequent disclosures. All these very popular and very rich Greek men often visited Pavlina’s flat to enjoy her sex services.

The 34-year-old woman managed to create a very good reputation among the high life circles and offered her services to the fans of sadomasochistic games in return for a high pay. Her famous clients even paid 1,000 euro per hour. The police state that the tariff amounted to 200-300 euro and increased depending on the sexual fantasies that the woman had undertaken to satisfy. The presence of popular names on the list of her clients had the effect of an "advertisement" of the unique services offered by her.

During the inspection of her flat on Prometheos Street in the centre of Thessaloniki the police found a specially adapted room, equipped for the performance of sadomasochistic games. "All the prominent representatives of the local society visited her," one of the policemen involved in the inspection told "Ethnos". According to sources, the pre-trial file states that the murder victim offered sex services in the lodging where she lived with her husband. Strangely enough, the documents note that her husband had no idea about the secret life of Pavlina.

According to the article, the 34-year-old woman paid with her life for these extreme sex games. She was killed during a session with a client, namely the 28-year-old Ukrainian imprisoned for her murder. It is said that he had strange sexual preferences that the woman agreed to satisfy. According to the police, he visited her on 10 January this year. The evidence suggests that she agreed to participate in sadomasochistic games and to use a leather whip and sex toys. The two, however, did not specify which word to use as a sign when one of them wanted the game to stop.

The police say that, at some point, the client could not stand the pain any longer or that he had changed his mind, telling her to stop. The woman probably thought that this was part of the game and continued to play the role of "mistress", not realizing that her life was in danger. Then the 28-year-old man took a knife and stabbed her several times in the neck. According to the police the attacker was so furious that he tried to strangle her immediately afterwards. During the examination, the forensic doctor established many deadly wounds on the neck of the woman.

J.P. was found in a pool of blood by her husband and his friend. She was dressed in her "work clothes" and sex toys were scattered around her. The authorities realized from the outset that it was a murder with sexual motives. They started to investigate the list of clients of the woman who is supposed to have been engaged in prostitution without the knowledge of her husband. He was one of the first persons brought to the police station for questioning and when asked about the presence of the room in question he replied that it was equipped for the personal use of the couple.

His reply convinced the investigators who removed him from the list of suspects for committing the murder because they had no evidence against him. According to other sources, the husband of the 34-year-old woman was absent from the flat for hours every day and travelled often.

During the investigation, the authorities discovered that the attacker had told a Greek friend of his, aged 48, about the murder a few days after he had committed it. He however informed the police about the crime. The clues discovered at the murder scene led the police to him. During the questioning the man related what the Ukrainian had confessed and he was arrested for concealing a criminal immediately afterwards.

Eight months after the brutal murder Thessaloniki police failed to reveal the thread of the murder with sexual motives. Last Thursday they issued an arrest warrant for the 28-year-old Ukrainian, who confessed that he had committed the crime. He was charged with murder and violation of the law on weapons.
