The Ministries of Finance and Civil Protection in Greece announced a reward of €1 million for any information, which will lead to the arrest Konstantina Kouneva’s attackers or to the identity of whoever ordered it. The Bulgarian was splashed with acid during the night of December 23, 2009 while going home from work. She had numerous facial burns and organs and since then she is treated in Evangelismos hospital.

Konstantina Kouneva lived through many surgeries and right now is recuperating. Not too long ago in an interview with Stavros Theodorakis she showed admirable generosity towards her attackers: “I do not feel hate for the one who attacked me. I feel sorry for him.”

Four days ago minster of civil protection Mihalis Hrisohiodis announced he is reopening the investigation and is giving it to the best investigator in the ministry. Hrisohoidis took the responsibility to personally supervise the investigation. Again four days ago, the labor minister Andras Loverdos officially gave a key to Kouneva’s mother, Elena Decheva, which belongs to their new apartment provided by the Greek state.
