100 Years of a Living Art - history of the Greek costume
Greek national costumes are exhibited in the Museum on 7, Dimokritou Street in the metropolitan district of Kolonaki. It is organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Lyceum of Greek Women. The exhibition presents a small part of the collection of the Lyceum, which includes over 25,000 items. The Museum of the history of Greek costume is open from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 2 pm. The exhibition will continue until December 2012.

Photographic Exhibition Expulsion and Exchange of Populations

Exhibition "The Antikythera Shipwreck: the ship - the treasures - the Mechanism"
6 April 2012 – 28 April 2013The temporary exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens is dedicated to the mysterious discovery in the region of the tiny island of Antikythera.On 17 May 1902, Greek archaeologist Valerios Stais discovered a part of the Antikythera Mechanism, which is considered to be an ancient mechanical calculator. A second expedition was held in the 1980s involving the Greek Archaeological Institute and with the assistance of Jacques Cousteau, the rest of the remains of the ancient machine was found.The Antikythera Mechanism is considered to be a mechanical calculator developed in Antiquity or in other words, a computer from antiquity. It served to calculate the position of stars and the movement of astronomical bodies. Almost all findings are presented to the public for the first time.Venue: National Archaeological Museum in Athens, Patission Street 44
