Relics tell the story of the fight in 1821
If you are planning to visit Thessaloniki soon, you will have the opportunity to see the rare exhibition of relics from the period of the Greek liberation revolution in 1821. It displays the original swords and guns of the heroes of liberation – George Karaiskakis, Ioannis Makriyiannis and the original document of the "Society of Friends" (Φιλική Εταιρεία) with the signature of his leader Alexander Ypsilanti, which announced the beginning of the revolution. The exhibition is held at the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace in Thessaloniki. It will be inaugurated on the day of the National Day of Greece, 25 March and will be open to citizens and tourists until 10 June this year.

Exhibition "A Greek portfolio - 50 years later"
The exhibition "A Greek portfolio - 50 years later" by American photographer of Greek origin Constantine Manos offers a glimpse into the past. It is presented in the main building of the Benaki Museum in Athens from 22 May to 25 August. The photographer was born in the city of Columbia, South Carolina, in 1934, in a family of Greek immigrants. The young man visited Greece for the first time in 1961 while he was searching for his descent. He travelled around the country with his camera and captured the true face of Greece of the time. The result of this personal journey was publicly presented in 1972, when he published a book entitled "A Greek Portfolio".
