GRRcalendar - Jul 2013
Events: July 18Exhibition "100 chairs, 100 days" Martino Gaber’s exhibition "100 chairs, 100 days" will be presented by the Benaki Museum until 28 July this year. It is inspired by Plato's philosophical conclusion that "no object can ever reach the perfection of the idea" and recreates the artist's desire to give a new life and meaning to objects collected from friends, from the streets or antique markets. Why chairs? "The chair leaves its negative mark on the human body because of its use. We work, rest and eat on it. It is a synthesis of our lives," says the 37-year-old artist and designer. Athens, Greece, 138, Piraeus Street |
