Four killed in a Roma vendetta

A quarrel between two Roma families in the region of Ilia in the Peloponnese resulted in the murder of four people. Five others were seriously injured and taken to the district hospital of Amaliada. A woman and three men were shot, following an altercation between the two clans, about which the local press is giving no details.

The victims were eight and four years old. The authorities were alerted about their disappearance on Wednesday afternoon, when the children left their home at 2:30 p.m. for their grandparent’s house in order to take them some meat. Shortly after three o'clock in the afternoon, the bag with the meat was found on the shore of the irrigation canal, but there was no trace of the children.
