An original art panorama of works of art with a main theme the bike will welcome passengers and visitors to Athens Airport from 1 September to 31 December. It is part of the new exhibition entitled "BikeArt Is In The Air", organized by the Athens International Airport and the art group Carpe Diem.
The three parts of the new artistic event present thirty-two art bicycles, scattered in the halls for arrivals and departures at the airport, an exhibition of 12 works by Greek and foreign artists, and a large mural which will be created "live" for friends of the bicycle. The aim is to present a special vision of the bike and to allow each of us to adopt a different healthy lifestyle through art and cycling.
The new exhibition is in the direction "Environment - greener lifestyle - art" and is included within the frame of broader cultural events with the respective content. The public can visit the exhibition every day, 24 hours a day, in the hall "Art & Environment" (Departures, entry 3), and 32 bikes will be exhibited in different parts of the airport.
In the "Art & Environment" hall 12 original works of art are exhibited, created especially for the exhibition, by 6 Greek and 6 foreign artists. On the World Car-Free Day (September 22), the audience can enjoy the "live" creation of a mural by 4 Greek artists. At the "Departures" level, 22 bikes and 10 children bicycles will be exhibited, painted by 13 Greek artists from the group Urbanart stage of Greece.
