Athens is a favourite tourist destination not only during summer but also during Easter as shown by the reservations in trivago.gr travel platform. The data show that visitors from all over Europe rank it first among their favourite destinations during the spring holiday. What make Athens more attractive are the lower prices per night in comparison with other European capitals. This indicator ranks it first with a price of 80 euro per night, followed by Berlin with a price of 94 euro.
The second most popular destination in Greece is the island of knights, Rhodes, where the average price per night during Easter holidays is 61 euro for a double room. The best offer for this period, however, is in the town of Chania on the island of Crete, where the average price per night is 58 euro.

Last year Athens was again at the top of the preferences of foreign tourists in the same period, with an average price per night of 79 euro. Rhodes ranked second again, with a price of 60 euro and Thessaloniki third with 79 euro for a double room. Although in 2013 the island of Kos ranked fourth among the preferred destinations, this year, it is not among the 10 most popular destinations.
After presenting the favourite Easter holiday destinations of Bulgarians yesterday, today GRReporter is going to inform you where Greeks are about to celebrate it. The data of trivago.gr show that they are packing and preparing to visit other European capitals during Easter. Their first preference is Rome, where the average price per night is around 168 euro, followed by Paris with a price of 177 euro. London ranks third and Istanbul fourth. The first Greek destination preferred by Greek tourists is only sixth in the ranking. This is the island of Corfu, which is especially popular during Easter, where the average price per night at this time of year is 104 euro.
Unlike this year, Greek tourists preferred local Easter holiday destinations in 2013. Athens was their first preference followed by Fira on Santorini Island. Surprisingly, Corfu was not on the list of favourite Easter holiday destinations.
Data analysts state that the preferences of Greeks are fundamentally different from those of foreign tourists and do not exclude abrupt changes in their favourite places to stay during Easter each year.
