Emanuela Karastoyanova
Minutes after Boriana Hristova perform the song A pain on the stage of Euro Voice 2010 in Athens, GRREPORTER was able to talk to the young participant from Bulgaria. Once she has taken off her stage costume, Boriana, is no different than the millions of young girls around the world. She acts naturally and keeps on smiling radiantly. With the difference that she belongs to the ambitious young people who have firmly decided to fight hard for their dreams and... conquer the musical peaks abroad.
The song of the girl coming from Varna is a dynamic dance track. She herself is the composer of the music. As she says A pain has a dance rhythm, which never grows old. Boriana reveals that her participation in Euro Voice 2010 is associated with a lot of emotions and hopes. Above all, for good performance. It is not the prize and money that have led the young girl to come on stage in Athens, but the participation in the Euro Voice 2010 itself, which is a great opportunity in her life. Boriana is excited and happy with her performance. She says that the minutes she spent on the stage have passed as "an unforgettable moment".
Are you satisfied with your performance? You sang your song nicely...
Boriana Hristova: Well yes, I'm satisfied. I think it is very important to mention that I have composed the music for the song... I want to say that everything went like in a movie. Everybody asks me are you happy? How was it? Everything was really like in a movie. It was an unforgettable moment. I hope people liked it...
Your performance was good. You have a great voice. I heard that you are also dealing with folk singing...
Boriana Hristova: Yes, I sang folk songs. I have even studied in the class of Pavlina Todorova, Elitsa Todorova's mother, who along with Sam Yankulov won the 5th place in Eurovision 2007. Perhaps because of her my Balkan sound is very strong... By the way I found out about this contest by accident...
I heard about this fortunate event. You found a job in exchange bureau and one day you got on the Internet, but instead of the euro exchange rate you got to the Euro Voice 2010 page... It sounds incredible. Do you believe in random things in this case?
Boriana Hristova: Well, I do believe. Because most things happen really by a chance. This contest is one of the things that happen to me again in that way. As you yourself have realized I applied accidentally... I even thought it was all a joke.
Why did you choose the song A pain? Because you have composed the music for it?
Boriana Hristova: I decided to participate with this song, because the music is dance. You know that dance music never grows old. I thought it was a track that will really appeal to people. In fact, it is the one I like the most among the songs I have made so far.
Do you think your song has a chance? What are your expectations?
Boriana Hristova: Well, may it please God, to really succeed. There are very good songs and very good voices. But I hope to appeal to people and I hope they look not only at the track, not only at the voices but at everything as a whole. Some have a voice, others have a vision, I hope that the evaluation is comprehensive...
Which songs impressed you personally?
Boriana Hristova: I was not able to hear all the songs, but that of Israel has a dance sound and I like it. I also like the song of Norway, rock music ... But not only. Everybody has tried to make nice tracks. It depends on who likes what style.
How would you feel if you win and how would you feel if you do not win?
Boriana Hristova: In both cases, I win. I win because I created contacts with many people from different countries, which for me is much more important than to win a prize or money. I hope that this will give me a great start in life.
I understand that you intend to dedicate your life to music?
Boriana Hristova: Yes. I am into music since I was very young. Since I was 4 or 5 years old. So this means for 18 years now. I am currently a student in musical pedagogy.
I wish you further success in the competition!
Boriana Hristova: Thank you.
