In Greece, the term "Bulgarian salaries" has become a byword for poverty, destitution and misery. Its use has become more frequent especially over the past two years, after the outbreak of the economic crisis. Whenever a minister, an opposition leader, a TV host or an ordinary citizen wants to express his indignation at the reduction of wages or the fiscal adjustment in general, phrases such as "They want to make us Bulgaria", "We will become like Bulgaria" can be heard. Although these words are common, few people know what the real wages in Bulgaria are. So, GRReporter has collected data for the monthly salaries in the country, whose economy is 4 times smaller than that of Greece. The data for the Greek salaries and pensions will be provided soon.
