My personal opinion is that the accession of Crimea will not take place. Germany is the key country in this crisis because it called for Ukraine's accession to the European Union and it is the only country that has an open dialogue with Russia and can influence it. All other Western countries, including the United States, Britain and France are far from the Kremlin and cannot have an influence on it. Germany will probably have to pay the highest price for the sanctions of the West towards Russia. I believe that now Germany has a little more time to turn to a political solution to the conflict, as the military solution will not benefit anyone.
