The concept of human design

Individuality and a unified group or national social identity are two entirely incompatible concepts. If I am a person whose earthly mission is to be a proponent of revolutionary ideas which undermine traditional values and the status quo, to be an innovator, to set new paths where no one has dared to set foot before, to encourage people to think outside the box and outdo themselves, then how could my individuality ever fit into the established concepts of ethics and harmonious communication with the outside world, if I cannot help but provoke people’s perturbation, irritation and shock? That would be quite a challenge indeed. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.
What do astrology and human design have in common? What are the main differences between their concepts and methodology? Astrology deals with the following notions: 12 star signs, 12 houses, 2 main celestial bodies – the Sun and the Moon, plus 8 planets, 2 Moon (lunar) nodes, 2 main axes – the Ascendant axis and the Midheaven, as well as numerous astrological aspects. The concept of human design is defined by a different set of parameters, along with 2 main conundrums, on which I will dwell in more detail below.
Two horoscopes are calculated – a birth horoscope and a second one which is drawn up after taking into account the measurement of precisely 88°00’00” degrees from a person’s Sun in the birth chart in the opposite direction of that of the star signs. The second horoscope concentrates on a specific moment preceding a person’s birth. It is also drawn up through the day, time and place of birth. Finally, two horoscopes are combined into one, resulting in the rave chart. In other words, so far this is pure and unadulterated astrology.
Naturally, I was intrigued by the mention of these 88 degrees. This is the first conundrum whose resolution I immediately started to pursue. Why precisely 88? Couldn’t it have been 98 or 78, for that matter? Everywhere I looked I came across the same answer – the number of degrees had to do with approximately 3 months before our birth, or 90 days during which the soul “enters” the body, so to speak. In addition, it is claimed that it is only at an 88 degree declination that a continuous movement and continuity of the entire human structure is ensured, there are no static positions. I must admit that I found this answer highly unsatisfactory.
However, as the Latin proverb says. “he who seeks finds”, and in the end I managed to find the answer to the 88 degree conundrum, it turned out to be quite simple. There is nothing mystical about it. For the time being though, I prefer to keep it to myself.
2. The circle of the Zodiac is divided into 64, instead of 12, segments called houses. The 12 star signs are included in it, but the essential thing is not the position of the planets within the star signs, but within any of the 64 segment instead. They correspond to the 64 respective hexagrams of the great Chinese Book of Changes, I Ching, which was intended and used for predictions. There is no mystery about it, surely. It is widely known why the number of the hexagrams is 64 and how they were compiled. Besides, there are 64 codons in the human DNA. To sum up, there are 12 star signs and 12 houses in astrology, while in human design there are also 12 star signs but 64 houses, or sectors/gates.
 3. There are also 9 centers corresponding to the individual's energy centres called chakras.
Hexagrams are distributed depending on these energy centers. That's the biggest mystery so far in human design as well as in terms of arrangement of hexagrams in the zodiacal circle. I'm trying to figure out "the scheme," but six years later that still fails me. However, I will not stop looking for answers, on the contrary – it motivates me and I am sure that sooner or later I will find what I'm looking for.
4. Finally, I need to mention the planets of the Solar system as well as the so-called Lunar nodes. Both in astrology, and in human design, they are the basis for the charts that are arranged and then analysed. What is specific here is that when we talk about the position of the Sun or any other planet in your personal chart, you need to know the exact degree of its location. We do not talk about the Sun in Aries or Taurus, but about the Sun in the 21st, 13th or 15th hexagram.
Therefore, astrology and human design are inextricably linked. Of course, astrology remains the source, the founder, so to speak - without its technical and mathematical apparatus, nothing can be built based on the signs of the Zodiac and the planets of the Solar system. I have seen somewhere a little exaggerated statements such as astrology has to be archived, it is in the past now and such like. Well, you cannot dismiss astrology. Without it, human design cannot exist. The chart used is in fact  one's  personal horoscope after all.
Pros and Cons of the Human Design Concept
Surely, everyone who practices and teaches classes in human design, will only talk about the pros. I do not mind, of course, even I myself do it. But to be able to provide arguments for the pros, you need to know what the cons are too. You need to be familiar with “the gaps” you could be faced with if someone curious asks a question that looks simple at first glance. Practically speaking, the cons of an astrologer and a human design practitioner are mainly due to their ignorance of the astronomical reality.
Here is what I mean:
