The cost of monthly travel cards for all types of urban transport is also increasing as well as that for the routes to the Athens airport. The same applies to the six-month and annual cards for all types of public transport with the exception of the routes to the airport. The preferential ticket price remains unchanged or 0.60 euro.

The cost of monthly travel cards for all types of public transport with the exception of the routes to the airport remains unchanged or 30 euro and of the quarterly card 85 euro.

The new prices of the cards, which include the routes to the airport, are as follows:

- monthly cards - 49 euro from 45 euro previously. The price of preferential monthly cards is rising from 23 euro to 25 euro.

- quarterly cards - 142 euro from 130 euro previously. Respectively the new price of preferential cards is 71 euro compared to 65 euro previously.

- six-month cards - 250 euro from 230 euro previously and 125 euro for the six-month preferential cards compared to 115 euro previously.

- annual cards - 490 euro from 450 euro and 245 euro for the preferential cards of the same term of validity compared to 230 euro previously.

The six-month cards for unlimited trips on all routes except those to the airport will now cost 170 euro (the preferential cards will cost 85 euro) and the annual 330 euro (the preferential 165 euro).

The tickets purchased by the citizens at the price of 1.20 euro can be used until the end of April.

At the same time, the employees of all types of public transport are continuing their strike actions. On Tuesday they will stop working for five hours from 11:00 am to 04:00 pm. In this period no public transport means - metro, electric railway, trams, buses and trolleys, will run their routes. Only the suburban train and the rail transport will operate normally. At twelve o’clock the employees will hold a protest rally outside the Ministry of Transport.

On Thursday they will participate in the general strike announced by the unions of public sector workers (ADEDY) and of private sector workers (GSEE) against the pension reform.

Trolleys and the rail transport will not operate on that day. Buses will run from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm. The underground, electric train and trams will run from 10:00 am to 03:00 pm. Taxis will not operate either.

It is expected that flights will be carried out normally that day as the air traffic controllers probably will not participate in the strike.
