With a score of 1:0 and a cup of Greece for the greens ended the game between the football teams of Aris and Panathinaikos, played at the OAKA stadium in Athens. Greens reached eighth double, the first since 2004. The victory and great joy of the team of Panathinaikos was in contrast to the disappointment of the team of Aris, which for the fourth consecutive time was one step away from winning the Cup, but despite its efforts it failed. It was also a huge disappointment to the 25 thousand fans who came to support their team. So for 40 years of its history now Aris remains without a title ...

 Despite of their loss Aris started the game at a high level. The players were not able to create good chances to score, but the defense was successfully blocking the ball on the greens and thus canceling any chance for a goal. Aris certainly had better control over the ball and a stronger presence on the field. The greens’ passing of the ball was not always coordinated and generally in the first half they lacked focus. While at home they could not easily find their rhythm, and missed valuable opportunities. Stronger defense of the guests made the situation more difficult. The hosts could not break through the defense of the opponent and so they had not other alternative but to attack from a distance. This however, made the goal even more difficult. Cisse had hard time trying to get the balls which were coming from far away.

Chances to score and both teams had during the 22^nd and 15^th minute. During the 22-minute Sifakis save the ball coming from a kick of Salpingidis and Ninis. In the 25th Tzorvas stopped the moving ball from a kick of Nasuti. There were also quarrels and nerves of course. During the 40th minute Leto fouled Meriem, for which he received a yellow card. The first half ended with the score 0:0.

The second half started with a similar rhythm. The team of Aris, however, had a weaker defense. The hosts used this chance and took the game under their control. In the 18th minute goal for the guests scored Leto. The llead, which the goal gave to the greens was not only in the score but also in their mental state. After the goal of Leto both coaches made changes to the squads. In the place of Ninis on the field came out Marinos and on the place of Meriem - Javito.

Last minutes of the game were filled with drama. Aris’ attack were constantly targeting the goal post of Tzorvas. The forward Koke made several attempts to score, the best of which was in the 31^st minute but the ball came out.

Despite their attempts to even the score, the pressure of the goal of the greens proved to be too strong. Aris was left once again without a cup ...
