You might not believe it but it's true. The one Dancing with Wolves, the Bodyguard, the legendary sheriff Wyatt Earp, the man sending messages in bottles, the Hollywood most romantic actor Kevin Costner will be in Athens in a month! On October 14 at 09:00PM the celebrity will get on stage of the former Badminton Olympic Center, together with his band Modern West. Tickets are already on sale by www.ticketnet.gr and prices are as follows: €150 for VIP, €100 to €35 for the rest.
Kevin Costner has always liked playing music and his wife Christine has always supported his talent. The band's history begins 20 years ago when the famous actor meets musician John Coinman in LA, who was interested in acting. Naturally both of them became so close and 20 years later they are still friends.
Later on Blair Forward joined them and the three started writing music and performing it as the Roving Boy band. They define their music as western rock and their single Simple Truth climbs to first place in all Japanese charts and hits record sales. Since Costner's film career shoots him off to the skies, the band starts playing more rarely and they write music when the three friends have time to meet.
Coinman and Forward meet producer and guitarist Teddy Morgan and drummer Larry Cobb in Arizona. And so when in 2005 the trio decides to get back together, they are joined by Teddy and Larry and this is how Modern West was created. The band's music was influenced by a wide range of American composers, different styles and eras. This year they were nominated for best video for their song Backyard.
Their album Untold Truths is part of charts throughout Northern America. Modern West perform the song Long Hot Night, which is included in Costner's latest film Swing Vote.
Kevin Costner's Athenian show should not be missed. Imagine the Bodyguard in the role of a romantic ballade singer... And another thing is for certain - we will not have the chance to see him again soon around here.
