The best DJ in the world, DJ Tiesto made a stop in Athens and electrified the Greek audience with a fantastic show in the seaside neighborhood Palyo Faliro. The stop in the Greek capital is part of the tour of the great musical magician around the world, the longest journey which the dance music has ever made. The tour lasts 18 months and targets cover 150 shows on 5 continents.
In Saturday night thousands of Greeks came to enjoy at the dance party. The number 1 DJ in the world presented his new album Kaleidoscope in… "brought" the audience down to its knees. In the album of Tiesto have entered stars from the music stage as Nelly Furtado and Calvin Harris. Kaleidoscope climbed to the Top 10 in world music charts. In Athens the Dutchman made a great mix, which literally hypnotized the audience. The visual picture was also worth it. In glowing clothing or in front of the background of distant stars, he presented an almost cosmic picture. On the screen were opening laser flowers, once red, once blue, once white, which were then turning into stars.
The magician of music really knows how to "talk" with the Greek audience. He sits in his chair, spins around, and after a moment on the screen is displayed: Athens, make some noise! The explosion in the hall is instantaneous. Thousands of people take the pace, as if they have been waiting for this musical feast for years. The technique of course, had its share. Over 168 000 W light, more than 180 000 W sound, over 100 speakers and 10 color lasers brought all into line.
DJ Tiesto is not in Athens for the first time. The Dutch star visited the Greek capital last summer during the Global Dance Festival, and even then won the hearts of the audience. Global Dance Festival is the biggest festival on the electronic dance scene. In Greece, it came after the huge success which it made in America for 8 consecutive years and in 2009 also on the Hawaii. After Athens it travelled also to other European capitals.
Tiesto is the only DJ in the world who was elected 3 times in a row for Best DJ in the world by the DJ Magazine. He was the first DJ who plays live during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. His music sounds also during the opening of the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006. For his album Elements of Life from 2008 he was even nominated for a Grammy. Because of his exceptional contribution to the development of music was awarded the Order of the Danish queen.
DJ Tiesto has over 100 concert - parties annually all around the globe. Some of the destinations he reaches with his own aircraft. For him it is said that he is one of the few DJs in the world who manage to fill up with audiences an entire football stadium.
With the Dance4Life track from 2007 made together with Maxi Jazz from Faithless, Tiesto launches his charitable cause, the fight against AIDS.
