With a score of 2-1 ended match between the football teams of Panathinaikos and Panyonios which was played at the OAKA Stadium in Athens. The game of this evening was a good start for the team of Panathinaikos. As it turns out the strict measures taken by Nikos Nioplias and threats that whoever does not give 100% of him at the course has no place on it are working. After a rigorous period of training the greens managed to beat their opponent even easier than they thought.

The hosts entered into the game strongly. During the first 15 minutes they managed to win five corner kicks. Panyonios became more active only in the 18th minute. A kick of Riera threatened the goal post of Dzorvas for a moment, but then the ball came out. Panathinaikos threatened to score for the first time during the 28th minute. Ninis sent the ball with his head towards the goal post, but the goalkeeper Mahos caught it.

Over the next few minutes the course became a battlefield .... Chances started to "pour" one after another. After a pass of the ball by Garcia Leto sent the ball towards the goal post of Mahos. For a moment the danger was hanging in the air, but then again the ball came out. A minute after this Riera proceed to a counterattack. Dzorvas, however saved the ball with ease. In the 33rd minute close to scoring a goal was also Cisse, but Mahos had a final say again. Very good chance to score the greens had at the 39th minute when Cisse proceed again with an attack. Latka, however, took the ball from the French forward and saved his team ...

The first goal of the match came just a minutes before the end of the first half. The player Ninis scored it. Originally Mahos surprised the 20-years old player and saved the ball but Ninis did not give up and then sent it again in the goal post with a head shot. So the first half ended with the score 1-0 for the hosts.

In the second half the attempts to score by the greens continued. During the 52-minute the goal post of Panyonios was attacked by Cisse, but this time again Mahos proved unbeatable. In the 59th minute came also the turn of Katsuranis to make his attempt, but again the ball came out. During the 62-minute the greens scored also their second goal, executed by Katsuranis. The truth is that Panathinaikos had more than one chances to score also a third goal... It missed, however, a dozen chances. In the last minutes of the game Panyonios scored in the goal post of the hosts. It was performed by the player Kumordzi.
