As every year, the Ministry of Culture celebrates full moon on August 29 and organises various events free of charge at more than 140 archaeological sites, monuments and museums across Greece.

From Thrace to Crete and from Rhodes to Corfu, visitors can take in the sights in the light of the August full moon, and also participate in various musical and stage acts, exhibitions, film screenings, shadow theatres, etc.

Every year, the list is topped up with other monuments and museums. After a four-year break, the archaeological site of Sounion in Attica will join the feast this year. Admission is free and the site will be open for visitors until midnight.

The Fortress of Trikala will be open to visitors from 20:00 to 24:00.

The Ireon archaeological site on Samos (the ancient temple of goddess Hera), at 21:00, will host a musical evening entitled, ''Moon, You Mesmerise Me'', featuring Zafiris Hadzifotiou (vocals) and Konstantinos Papageorgiou (guitar). The evening will continue until 23:30.
