Loukas Giorkas’s song "Watch my dance", which combines the heavy Greek traditional dance zembekiko with hip-hop got carte blanche for the 56th European Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in the German city of Dusseldorf in May.

The performance of the Loukas Giorkas accompanied by Stereo Mike won the applause of the critics and the audiences with the song "Watch my dance" music written by Yiannis Hristodulopoulos and lyrics by Eleana Vrahali.

In the five-member jury with chairman the Director of the Greek radio program Marina Lachana were the musician Andreas Pilarinos, the poet George Pavrianos, the actress Bessy Malfa and the General Director of Radio Athens Dee Jay and the Rock FM Michalis Tsaousopoulos.

The simple, with no special effects, even boring ceremony for the presentation of the song started shortly after 10 pm Wednesday evening and without any emotion ended as the hostess of the show Lena Aaron seemed to be uncomfortable on the stage not knowing what to do.

The evening began with a group of musicians who play the djembe drums under the guidance of Nikos Touliatos which accompanied each applicant singing acappella the choruses of the songs with which they competed. Then followed a brief presentation of the European competition for the song and was shown a video with wishes by the singers who will represent Italy, Finland, San Marino and the UK, but also by Sakis Rouvas, to the candidates to go to Eurovision from Greece.

Then came the surprise! The alternative proposal this year for the Eurovision coming from the  Scooligans and the song "Ρ.Ι.G.S" with music written by Apolonas Retsos and Christos Ioannidis, which was inspired by the name given to the countries of south Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece).

Subsequently were presented six songs that competed to go to Düsseldorf: "Come with me" by Kokkina Halia, "The time is now" a Valando Trifonos, "Smile" by Trimitonio," It's all Greek to me" by Antigoni Psihremi , "Watch my dance" Loukas Giorkas feat. Stereo Mike and "Ι don't wanna dance" performed by Nikki Ponte.

While viewers voted for their favorites, on the stage appeared Christos Mylordos, who will represent Cyprus with the song "Like an angel I loved you", Glen Vella from Malta with the song "One Life" and the Bulgarian Poly Genova with the song "Out of spite". On stage appeared also David Lynch, who sang older tracks which participated in Eurovision from Greece like "Secret combination" and "Shake it", but in jazz rhythm and in the accompaniment of drums.
.

Throughout the finals for the choice of the Greek song at the amphitheater Katehaki there were journalists and fans of Eurovision, while in the lobby was full of friends and relatives of the singers who participated. As Loukas, who will present Greece in Duesseldorf was the only one not dancing to the song "Dance with me", obviously he will need to learn as he was given an order that he will have to dance a heavy zembekiko. Good luck!
