Eurostat confirms the Greek budget surplus

The European Statistical Office confirmed that Greece had achieved a primary surplus of 3.4 billion euro in 2013. The figures were announced just four years after the country requested assistance from the European support mechanism.

According to Eurostat data:

- Last year’s total government deficit amounted to 23.109 billion euro

- The total government debt was 318.703 billion euro

- The gross domestic product at market prices for 2013 was 182.054 billion euro.
