In October 1974, the five most important activists of the junta were arrested and exiled to the island of Kea: Georgios Papadopoulos, Stylianos Pattakos, Nikolaos Makarezos, Ioannis Ladas and Michail Rufogalis. The exhibition presents the election fights between the parties through posters, election materials and bulletins.
Then a collection of photos is exhibited from the first celebration of the events in the Athens Polytechnic which was delayed because elections were held on November 17 and this prompted some negative reactions.
''The next priority of the government was to hold a referendum for the Greek citizens to vote on the state system, i.e. monarchy or not. It was held on 8th December, 1974. Leaflets, various objects, publications, magazines and newspapers present the polemics of that time. Most of the materials pertain to the counter monarchy fraction but there are also materials issued by its adepts.''
The exhibition shows some materials on the constitution voting in Greece. ''The Archive of the Parliament provided a copy of the draft constitution and all suggestions entered by the parties such as amendments, and suggestions by other institutions and persons. There is a section dedicated to the acting president Michail Stasinopoulos and the immediate preparations for presidential elections and the election of Konstantinos Tsatsos which is the finale of the exhibition.''
Thanks to the QR technology, visitors can watch newsreels from the period as well as listen to audio materials including speeches of political leaders.
One of the theme sections is dedicated to the foreign and security policy of Greece: the country returns on the global stage and has to restore its relations with the Western partners, the neighbouring Balkan countries and Turkey in particular in view of the Cyprus issue. The first court trial of the members of the military junta is also presented at the end of the exhibition.
In a separate room, the impact and resonance of these important and often dramatic events on the arts and culture: cinema, literature, theatre.

The exhibition will open for organised visits in September.
