Tumult over Banksy film starts even with the mentioning of his name - he is perhaps the best known among the street graffiti artists. Although he is world-famous he wishes to keep his identity in secret – there was no picture of his in the media, the film shows only his back several times and his voice is also changed. It is certain that fans of the underground expected "Exit through the gift shop" for a long time just to take a glimpse into the world through the eyes of the mysterious Banksy.
So, the 16th edition of the traditional Film Festival Premiere Nights starts in Athens. We will have the chance to see many independent productions, documentaries, animations and Greek films as well as tribute to the work of Ernst Lubitsch.
The first film that will open the festival on September 15 is The Kids are All Right by Lisa Cholodenko and the latest Woody Allen comedy You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger
will close it befittingly on September 26.
Part of the festival are 150 films. Among them are Au revoir Taipei, Temptation of St. Tony, Rubber, Little Baby Jesus of Flandr, Some Days are Better than Others, Hitler in Hollywood and Freakonomics.
Turmoil is expected in the Music and Movies section for the screening of the documentary film The Doors (When you’re strange), for Motorhead (Lemmy) and for Rolling Stones (Stones in Exile). We will have the chance to see and A Temporary Area in Athens – the first production of the festival, directed by the documentary Vincent Moon.
The film about the writer and poet Allen Ginsberg "Scream" is expected with great interest while the documentary Inside Job will make us understand what global recession means. The festival will present well-known names like Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love, but also many Greek films by artists who do not live only in Greece. Expected with greatest interest are In the Forest by Angelos Frandzis and The Lost Arcadia by Fedon Papamihail.

Because it is one of the film that best impressed the audience of the last year's festival in Berlin. It is based on a true story that shocked the Austrian society in the 1980s.
9. The Kids are All Right
Because it is the first film meeting of two great actresses: Julianne Moore and Annette Benning! The film is most likely to be among the Oscar nominees this year mainly because of the incredible performances!
8. Habitacion en Roma
Because it is a film of the beloved Julio Medem ... but if we are honest ... to become voyeurs for a short time…
7. Monsters
Because according to rumors, it is this year’s surprise - a movie about monsters in the footsteps of the last year’s District 9.
6. Autour de Minuit
Because it is the only opportunity to see some of the best productions of the company, including Logorama, which won an Oscar for animation the last year.
5. Alting Bliver Godt Igen
Because we can not wait to see the new film of Christopher Boe, but to ask him some questions too as rumours say he will attend the film-show.
4. Io Sono L 'Amore
Because it is Visconti drama style, which puts the life of an aristocratic family under a microscope and picks praises wherever presented! The screening is only for the readers of the Cinema magazine!
3. Exit through the gift shop
Because this is the long-awaited documentary filmed by Banksy that got great criticism and a fascinating diving deep into the underground culture.
2. Des Hommes et Des Dieux
Because the Cannes Committee may have voted for Weerasethakul, but the critics favourite unconditionally remained Des Hommes et Des Dieux!

The program highlight is a collection of the best short films for the past year. If there is at least one to reach even half of the bar the last year's film L 'Arbitro put, then we did not spend our money in vain!
