One of the most exciting things for modern women during the holidays is how to look good. We have special tips for those ladies who will celebrate this year’s holidays outside, at a restaurant, concert, party or wherever they decide. Christina Stavridi has her own channel on the popular video sharing network YouTube, and thousands of fans who follow her tips. Today she is offering GRReporter readers tips on how to apply make-up and what to wear during the festive night. Christina is distinguished for her elegant and simple style; she is revealing details about herself and offering some simple ideas on how to achieve stunning results in terms of appearance.

Can you help our readers choose, along with you, the ideal appearance for the magical Christmas night? What do you suggest in terms of make-up and clothes?

I would advise each of you to wear what makes you feel beautiful. We all have different styles and must wear what contributes towards our self-confidence the most, whether boyfriend jeans for a casual look, a stroll with friends or a classic black dress for a luxurious dinner at a nice restaurant. As for make-up, I would advise chosing products that will make your skin fresh and radiant. For those who want to emphasize their eyes, a great and classic "cat eye" vision always draws attention. If you like bright-coloured lipsticks, you should prefer matte colours and apply a lot of mascara, without using eyeliner, to obtain balance without exaggeration.

Is there something you want to wish our readers and what is your Christmas wish?

Health and love, nothing is more important. Take care of yourself so you can take care of those who need you. Love and show it. The world is already detached, envy and wickedness are dominating and those who truly love are afraid to show it. Each of us should try to make the change he or she wants to see in the world.

Where will you go for Christmas? Have you decided what to wear on Christmas Eve, and what make-up to apply?

This Christmas I will be with my family in Jerusalem. To be honest, we do not do anything special. We gather at home, wear comfortable clothes, have something to eat, talk and laugh for hours. Is not that the most important thing during holidays anyway? When it is time to go out with my friends, I will wear something simple and comfortable. This year I will wear a "totally black, casual, chic" outfit with "statement" earrings. As for make-up, I will prefer my daily fresh face, by emphasizing my eyes. I want to feel comfortable and not to worry that I will spread red lipstick everywhere!

What are your plans for the New Year?

I hope 2015 will be a better year for all, full of ingenuity. I wish I could devote more time to my channel and do well at university as well. Parallel to this, I will continue my daily efforts to become a better person because I can be.

What do not we know about you?

Maybe that I am 22 years old, of Greek-Palestinian origin, I am from Jerusalem. I am studying at the Law School in Athens and while growing up I was involved in many different activities, such as music, singing, karate, volleyball and other sports.

How did you start to upload videos on the channel and when? What do you show in them?

I launched the channel in April 2013. It was mainly for fashion at that time. Then subsequently, different brands of make-up products started contacting me and I agreed to cooperate, adding to the channel topics about make-up and beauty. I have always liked watching videos on YouTube, but I had never believed that I would have my own channel because I was not feeling at ease in this field. Having been convinced by my friends, I have launched it and the main reason not to abandon it is people’s respect for what I am offering. Today, everything has to be exaggerated and perfect, making us feel bad about ourselves. Respect for simplicity is gone and I want it to re-appear through my channel. My motto is "less is more". I am a simple girl who has an ordinary life and just likes to take care of her appearance, without going too far. I want to show that a woman can be active, smart and have a good appearance as well, it simply depends on the balance.

What is the most positive side of what you are doing and what difficulties do you encounter in connection with your channel, if there are any?

Of course, the most positive side is the love and respect of people. The thought that someone who does not even know me, devotes a little of his or her time to watch my video, hear what I have to say and support me with pathos is something amazing and I will never get used to it! As for the negative comments, fortunately, a positive aura has prevailed on my channel so far and I have not seen anything more serious. Anyway, because I respect and appreciate all the love that I obtain I will not allow anyone to break me, because it will not be fair to everyone else who supports me.

What annoys me is the technical part on YouTube. Quality is most important for me and I would prefer to upload nothing rather than to show something incomplete. I cannot tell you how many videos I have not uploaded because of poor lighting, poor sound or picture quality. I hope to have, in the near future, all the necessary devices that secure better quality at any time.

These are Christina Stavridi’s tips on an elegant and simple, yet comfortable, appearance for the festive evening. Now it is your turn to take your lipstick and mascara to enjoy the preparations as they are a very enjoyable part of the holidays
